Red Arrows at Swanage

I love the Red Arrows!  They are so majestic, the formations are perfect and the ability of the pilots is second to none.  And they always offer a great set of photo opportunities :-)

We've been having some pretty poor weather recently (what a wonderful British Summer it is, once again).  But if you're the sort of person who believes in God, then I think He must like the Reds as it was a perfect day for them - sunshine and some high and low level clouds, and a little breeze to blow away the smoke and keep the visibility up.

The display was fantastic, with a few new manoeuvres for 2009 which I haven't seen before.  More work with pairs of Hawks rather than lone aircraft.  And a few of the old favourites (you've got to admire the skill involved in drawing a heart in the sky in smoke and then an "arrow" through it, all at 500mph using 3 jets!!).

I will add a few of my favourite images when I'm happy with the processing.
