Just a quick post to say that the results of the closed beta testing have been good, and FoCal (formally AFMAC) is now very close to release.
There will be a dedicated website when the software is released at http://www.fo-cal.co.uk (and still at http://www.lenscal.co.uk or http://www.reikan.co.uk/focal) but for now those links point to this page.
Thank you to everyone who has donated or expressed an interest in this software – it’s taken a lot more effort than I anticipated. I’ve had a lot of early mornings and late nights working on this!

would like to try this program to calibrate my camera
FoCal is now officially released
– See here for details.

I’m afraid the beta program has closed now we have reached an official FoCal 1.0 release. See here for details.
Contratualtions..
Good to hear about the official release..
Can’t wait to see it working…
Thank you so much for the effort
Deepak
Any idea on price yet?
I found LensAlign to be very expensive.
Cheers
Hi
The price of the first release is on the website at http://www.fo-cal.co.uk (currently discounted for January 2012).
Will it finally work with 1Ds Mark III?
It works till 0.6.5 version
I don’t know if it is possible to test other AF points than center one.
You know it was an issue in some 1D and 1Ds Mark III: focus was correct in center point but may vary among the other ones.
I don’t know if each focus point is possible to asign or test in a separate/unique mode.
Will it finally work with 1D Mark IV ?
Thank you so much
Initially, it will only work with the 5DmkII and 7D, but addition of new camera support will be rapid – definitely within 1 month of formal release.
I have recently found out about this sowtfare and I’m eagerly waiting for it to be released as I have been resisting to do AF adjust manually as I find the process very cumbersome. I hope Fo-Cal works great.
